Folk Sports is one of the most exciting classes at WMACS, often taught by one of the expert teachers brought over from Taiwan. Alex Han, one of our former campers, longtime counselor, and one of the best Chinese yo-yo teachers in the area (though, he does not entirely agree with that title), has also taught the Folk Sports class at camp.

Campers usually focus on learning how to play with the Chinese yo-yo – also known as the diabolo. However, campers can also pick up other folk sports, such as Chinese top, jump rope, and shuttlecock.

At the end of the week, all the campers perform what they’ve learned at WMACS’ Closing Ceremony. Often times, the more advanced students take their own initiative and help formulate a routine. Check out some of the best diaboloing campers at WMACS!
