Back by popular demand, lion dance has been a part of WMACS history for years! Campers have the opportunity to work in teams as either instrumentalists or dancers. Dancers learn the basics of being both the head and tail of the lion. This includes complicated stances and movements unique to Lion Dance.
Instrumentalists are free to experiment with a variety of traditional percussion instruments and focus on whichever they feel most comfortable with. Dancers will practice together with these musicians to craft a choreographed final performance Throughout the week, they’ll work together with experienced counselors to create a routine filled with excitement and Chinese heritage.
